So...I've been gone for weeks and weeks....and have done no cooking whatsoever....but that doesn't meant that I have forgotten about this little "cooking performance" that I decided to attempt....
I started a new job...and consequently, had to leave my old job to do that. Logical, right? Well, it's been a difficult thing to accept...I went to school for 5 years to be a music teacher, and never did find that job...but I WAS teaching, so I felt that I was really using my degrees somehow. A better job came along though...it fell into my lap, and in these questionable economic times when people are begging for jobs, this was quite an opportunity. Almost double the pay, my own corner office with 2 windows (previously, I had been in a "classroom" for over 2 years without a window...just the sterile, headache-inducing fluorescent bulbs), and a really positive work environment where no one resents me for teaching things, and no one blames me for their failures in life.
I am the Director of Finance for an architectural company, and I am loving it. I do office management stuff, but also invest company money in the stock market. If you listen carefully, you will hear the simultaneous heart attacks of the math teachers who had me taking up space in their classrooms. I sure showed them!!
So, now that I am getting settled into this new job, I am getting back to things I had to put on hold...including this blog. The family is away tomorrow, so I am going to take the opportunity to cook something....no idea what, yet....but I will post results!
It's good to be back.
