Hello Blog, nice to see you...it's been a long time...
Lots of things got in the way of taking time to write here, or do the things I had originally set out to do. Those things have wound down now, and I found myself in a position where I was actually providing myself with fodder for this venture without realizing it...
I took a cake decorating course.
It seemed silly to sign up for it but I thought, "Hey, why not? Maybe it's something I'll be good at!" I have spent my whole life doing music...to the detriment of everythign else...so I have no idea what other interests I might have, or what else I might be good at. The best part is, I had a lot of fun doing the course, and it forced me to get into the kitchen every weekend.
This Sunday is the last official day of the course, but as it is Thanksgiving weekend, I'm not attending...but I will be doing my last project from home.
Here is a picture from week #2. It is a white cake filled with lemon curd, and decorated with a piped-icing depiction of a slice of lemon meringue pie...espeically for my brother who accuses me of never making him a pie...
Week #3 was cupcake decorating, and so I've included my favourite of the bunch (which were all inhaled by my co-workers).
